  • What do you pick up...

...when you are just going out?

    For me

both small and pocketable... and if Olympus got brave they might even consider the TG-6 as an E-mu...4/3 sensor in a weatherproof fixed lens camera... but we can just dream.

So what do you pick up?

I'd take the Pen, but with one of the faster pancakes - Panasonic 14/2.5 or 20/1.7 or the Olympus 17/2.8. Better still - the Pen with the Panasonic 12-32 or the Olympus 14-42 EZ. Both are tiny, faster than the bodycap lens and optically pretty good. Having a range of focal lengths is great for walkaround use too.

I must admit to picking up smaller and smaller cameras. On my last trip to Hong Kong and Singapore I was blown away by the quality of images taken on my son's iPhone 8 plus. So much so that I bought the iPhone X whilst in Singapore.

Like Mike, its with me all the time, and on a recent trip to Zurich was more than a match for my friends Canon SLR. Having all the pictures on my phone, geotagged is a delight.

I gave up on a pocket camera as it got used infrequently and bouncing around in my jacket killed it.
Now I have the iPhone which is enough for a snap. If there’s any chance of a photo then the em10 and either the 14-42 ez pancake or the 17mm f1.8 if it’s darker or indoors.
