Olympus Updater no longer working

I just tried to check if the new E-M1 firmware was available for my E-M1's but whenever I try to connect to the cameras using Olympus Updater on my MacBook Pro running Mavericks I get an error saying that it can't communicate with the camera.

I then tried it on my other Mac running El Capitan and the same thing happens. Tried all the different connection modes (after mass storage mode) and there are other errors.

Then I tried it on my E-PM2 and the same thing!

I can't fault the cable (Olympus Capture runs fine). Has anyone else tried to update firmware and had this issue recently?

I re-installed it and now it seems to be working. Very weird that both Macs would suddenly exhibit the same problem with the same software.

Some people couldn't get it to run in El Capitan but were able to get the latest Oly Updater update from Oly Viewer 3 by checking for updates there & running it with it downloading Oly Updater 1.2.1. & that ran OK in El Captitan.

Interesting that the Oly Updater did not alert one to the availability of a newer version, I am sure I can remember some of the other Oly products alerting one to more recent versions.
