  • 100-400mm and IS

    Just something I picked up.

    Please don't shoot the messanger.

    RW in one of his vids suggests using...

    Lens OIS > ON

    Body IBIS > SIS Auto.

    Whether this makes the slightest difference I don't know, my IBIS was set to SIS 1.

    He also recommended ensuring that you are using the latest body/lens firmware, my body was 1.3 the latest 1.4.

    Marginal gains and all that.

    Those are the settings I use, it works for me - in my experience Robin Wong not is wrong!

    That’s the settings I use . Just wish I had a 300 f4 for days like today

      When both OIS & IBIS are ON then the body only corrects for roll, so I think using Auto-IS would be best anyhow.
      Whether Len IS Priority is ON or OFF it doesn't matter. Leave it On if it makes you feel better.
