  • HELP! Is this the end?

My trusty E-400 has been playing up lately and getting progressively worse. Sometimes the shutter will jam shut when taking a shot, and other times will sound like it's fired off twice in quick succession, but won't have registered as taking any shot (no picture saved and just a blank screen shows up). In either case I have to do the classic switch off and on again for it to reset.

I've checked the shutter count and it's not even at 10,000 yet, so I would hope there's still a bit of life left. It hasn't had an easy life accompanying me on many adventure travels, but I have taken care not to knock it about too much so I'm hoping this isn't it.

Anyone else come across this problem and any ideas on if there's a solution.

    Thanks

Unfortunately, it sounds like the shutter is sticking & giving up. I think it may be about time for you to treat yourself to a later model camera now.

Sounds bad. Could it be repaired?

I would chance contacting Olympus and mentioning how few actuations the camera has, you never know, they may offer a discounted repair price.

        Good luck.
