You are referring to the control panel settings along the bottom of the display? Never thought you could turn it off, I could be wrong but I'd say you have a fault there.

It sounds like the display is faulty in the view finder as I can't find anything in the E3 manual that would allow you to change anything in the view finder display.

I think the UK warranty is 2 years. I would think they would repair, from my experience this takes around 4 weeks.

are you getting the eye sufficiently close to the viewfinder, wearing glasses can sometimes make it difficult to see the information.

Could be a communication issue between the camera and lens. Try removing and replacing the lens. If that doesn't work, try a different lens.

Even with the lens removed the display will show with a "-.-" flashing for the aperture setting.

                    Hi folks

I have just tried taking the lense on & off + changing to a differnt lense, no differance. The camera works ok its just there is no display around your viewfinder. The camera and 50-200 + 12-60 lens is under 12 monthes old so it looks like i need to have a word with Olympus. This will be the first time i have ever had to contact them so it will be intresting to see how quick & promt they are. At under 12 months old & their flagship camera when i bought you would think they should send you a new body out. It appears that i have to pay to post & insure my camera to get it back to them.
My daughter is ski racing this weekend.
A new E5 body would be nice!

Hi David - is there still snow this season!

Try cleaning the contact pads on the lenses and converter (if you have one) and the pins in the camera inside the lens mount.

If that doesn't work, get in touch and I will see if we can help you out with a spare E-3.

                        Hi Ian

The pins look clean and i have tried differnt lenses, i have swapped my 50-200 on to my e510 and the readouts are all there in the viewfinder .I will try that! but thankyou for the offer. The races are indoor this weekend and are at chillfactore.
