    Welcome to the E1 club!

I too find it highly unlikely that it's only taken 28 photos (mine's taken 13,000) but you never know your luck!

Could it have been repaired recently? If it has had a new shutter unit would that have reset the counter?

Either that or it could have taken 100,000,028 photos!

      Maybe it's been clocked!

Re: Wooohooo - GOT IT (But there's something odd...)

As another recent member of the E1 owners club (thanks to IPWheatley) I thought I would check check the shutter count.

Mine is showing as 2601 and a least 400 of these are mine! It may not be quite as good as 26 but even so......

Let me know how you get on updating the firmware, mine is showing 1.0 but it would not update via Olympus camera update software returning a error message stating that this model was not supported.

Incidentally, for those that are interested, I really can see why E1 users love this camera so much. As a self confessed gadget fan who likes to always have the latest and greatest kit I thought I would be frustrated by the limitations of this. However the build and feel of the E1 coupled with things like a mode wheel (why did Olympus drop this?), a secure card door cover/catch (is it me or have these been getting worse?) & an eyepiece that does not keep falling off in your camera bag have me easily forgiving the size of the LCD screen or how long it takes for a review image to show on it.
        Jason.

I am not sure how one resets the shutter count within the firmware... does anyone know?

I didn't think a user could do it......
Olympus do it when they service a camera, I believe.

May I ask where you found it? On here or ebay or elsewhere?

I've read something similar somewhere about the E-1 but thought it was one of the later updates, 1.3 or 1.4. As this camera's on 1.1 that wouldn't apply.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

It would make sense that it resets with a fw upgrade...I'll know more if I manage to update it to 1.5

                          Oooooook, so the strangeness continues.
Upgraded from firmware version 1.1 to 1.5...it didn't reset the shutter count (now 66 after my test shots).
And another strange thing........I can see me loving my E1 more than my E5. Truly lovely camera to use

My E-1 shows a lot less shutter activations than it's actually done. I am fairly certain the shutter counter has been reset with firmware upgrades.

I've just had my E-3 serviced and the shutter replaced under warranty (even though it was over 2 years old ).
They didn't re-set the shutter count which seemed odd. It still reads well over 9000.
Either that or they did a whole lot of test shots
                              Best Regards
