Slow Start Up

Bit of help please.
Is there anything that can be done to improve the woeful slow start up time.
Out today trying to photograph some insects with my newly acquired 60mm Macro lens.
By the time it fired up the bugs had too often flown the coop.

The EM5.2 is known for slow start up. I'm not aware of any updates or tricks to improve it. There's the "Quick Sleep" feature, but I'm not sure whether that makes startup faster. Worth a try though.

I experienced a slow start-up with OM-1.

I think it had something to do with it reading the SD card. Having re-formatted the card(s), it now is fairly quick to start up.

Maybe there is a problem with reading the card, so either format or change it...

The bigger the SD card & the slower it is, it will slow down start up as it has to be scanned before being ready to start. Maybe not a full scan, but it does scan & the more images are on it, it could take longer.

I swapped the Lexar 64GB 170MB/2 for a Sandisk 64GB 200MB/s and formatted it
Seems about the same, i'll see if i can find something like an 8GB and give that a go.
Thanks for the replies, most of the time it doesn't matter, but its noticeable with the insects.

Yes, the larger the card, the longer it takes to do the initial scan. You can see the 'card write' symbol showing when powering on & also how long it is on for. If switching off & back on it may not show though.
