  • OM-D E-M10 Mark II battery door replacement?

I've broken the battery door on my OM-D E-M10 ii. I've glued it back together but I have lost one of the two springs and I would like to replace with an official part.

Luton Cameras have sold all their Olympus battery doors and can't get any more.
I found one on sale in Oz but they won't ship internationally
AliExpress have one for £25 which seems excessive and may attract import taxes and duty on arrival.
There are eBay listings at £99 which is madness.
I've sent a support request to OMSystems via their website.

There is another owner over at AVForums who is in the same position.

    Anyone sourced a replacement recently?

    Thanks in advance

Find one like this for spares or repair Olympus e-m10 mark ii | eBay
Stick in an offer and you will no doubt get it cheaper
Job lot of spares for the future too if you intend keeping the camera

Thanks but it would need to be A LOT cheaper than £104 for me to consider it.
At the moment I'm considering a £10 PU half case from Ebay to protect the flap and leaving it at that.

I just use gaffers tape on things like that. Doesn't leave residue.

I'm afraid i won't help any other E-M10ii users with the same problem, but it's helped me out.

          DIY repair

Should anyone happen across this on a search...

The red arrows indicate where the brass/copper springs should sit. I lost one of mine I suspect before the last accident which is why the cover was a little loose.
The yellow arrow indicates the orientation for the metal tab that secures the cover to the camera - first attempt I got it reversed and had to prise my repair apart and try again.

With a toothpick, I added spots of (poundland) epoxy where the 3 holes in the metal plate align with the now broken plastic pins.
Then put the metal cover on, applied 3 more dots of epoxy over the top and held it in place for 5 mins while it initially set, then waited overnight before fitting to the camera.
The catch is very stiff and doesn't spring back, presumably because of the missing spring or perhaps the metal plate is lower than it was when supported with plastic pegs - but it feels fairly safe and closes very firmly.
