That file triggers an Excel security alert for me...

I have also received a security alert for this site. I am not sure what the problem is but I did not proceed.
It's almost certainly worried about the macros imbedded in the file that make the links work. (It is possible to send viruses to a PC via macros in Word or Excel, so Microsoft now flag up when you try to open a file with macros in it. Scanning the file with your AV software should identify any nasties.)

Another problem with the firmware update is that it also resets your image file counter so that you start again from file 00000001. This will give you duplicate file names for your images! This blog suggests a way to reset your camera file numbers to where they were before the firmware update: http://www.thewanderinglensman.com/2...s-all.html?m=1

It doesn't just reset the image counter - it resets the file naming option to "reset" so you start at zero again every time yo reformat the card.
Easy way to avoid it is to still have some pictures on the card, do the update, change the option to "Auto" and take another shot just to be sure before reformatting.

I must have taken some photos (& deleted) before changing to Auto (or had formatted the card) but the last photos were taken the day before so there wouldn't be any duplication since the first three numbers & characters after P are the date (Month Date). I also change the P for M on my E-M1 to differentiate it from the other cameras (my E-M5 is O & Stylus 1 is S) & together with using Auto File Name there is no confusion between files (except to try & find that last particular flower shot I must have taken about six months ago ), but if putting photos from one year with another, well......
Ross"I fiddle with violins (when I'm not fiddling with a camera)". My Flickr OM-1, E-M1 Mk II plus 100-400mm f5-6.3 IS, 7-14, 12-40 & 40-150 f2.8 Pro lenses, MC14 & 20.
I increment the alpha character each year to further identify when the images were taken. Each camera has a different alpha character each year. So I get repetition every 13 years.
Can I just check that the leading letter of the file name is not going to get re-set? I use that to differentiate images taken on my two M1 bodies.
I have always reformatted my cards after every use, in part because I use them in Oly, Panasonic and Fuji bodies, and if all that process is now b.@@...d it's going to be a right royal pain...

No that's something else you need to reset after the update
(I have to reset mine with a leading EM1 to distinguish the images from my GX7.)

Ah, yes, also I realise I misunderstood the original comment: panic over!
