  • mini flash problem

I lost the original flash that came with my EM 1, so got a replacement from Oly. I don't use it that much but the other day I took some pics of the kids with the flash and they are badly underexposed.
My first reaction was that I had turned the dial to dial in in less exposure, but not so.
This is a jpeg from a raw file, no editing, just exported from LR5. In develop mode just hitting the 'auto; button and it brightens up considerably.

    Any ideas?

Mine runs a half to a full stop under exposed in auto flash mode, or fill in flash. I just turn up the flash compensation on the SCP.

I did that, turned it up to 3 stops, makes no difference.

Do you have another camera body you could try the flash on to see if it produces the same result?

Do you have RC flash ON? It shouldn't be! (unless that was intended)

Thanks Ross, that was the problem. Don't know how that got turned on

There was a time when we only had toothier with shutter speed, aperture and iso, now we are bombarded with stuff. (Not complaining).

I realise it was a typo Dave but I have been trying to work out what it was meant to say.

To tell you the truth I didn't pick up on the typo, just how things get mysteriously get turned ON or OFF.
