      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbxbbkwJyY8 works directly from Youtube...

The problem with the link is that there is a redundant "http://" on the front - strip that off and it's fine as MJ224 has posted. Just a bit of finger trouble I suspect.

I was disappointed this new focus indicator display does not show the estimated focus distance in metres like you get with the PreMF setup viewfinder display. Or did I miss something? I just wonder why they do not show it as it is possible for the PreMF setup to show this distance (when you set AF mode to PreMF and press the info button). I use it for setting up the custom AF limits in the camera - say if you don’t want AF to hit on some bushes in the background, you find the distance and set the custom focus limit upper range within that.

As the focus distance in recorded in the EXIF there is no reason that I can see why ALL mirrorless cameras can not show it in the viewfinder. Restricting these types of things to the top end cameras (ebven this poor implementation) is criminal. Just my rant. sorry.

I think I agree. What could the use be?

It’s only a tiny point but some sources say new firmware is out 2 Dec, and some some 3 Dec. Anyone know definitively (says a 1X owner eager for the Bird AI!)?

Maybe it will be late on the 2nd GMT.
When it is already the 3rd 'downunder'.

Yup, that’s the problem. Theoretically authoritative sources are quoting two different dates.

Which is why I said it was a tiny point above! Still find it odd that they can't agree.

These cameras already have a focus 'Peaking' function, which works pretty well and does vary depending on the F-stop being used. My old Fuji X-Pro1 (Mk1) displays the DOF in ft or m, so maybe Mr Forsgard's version wasn't a fully-functional?

I'm guessing what we'll get is the closest focus-distance DOF-wise on the L, the 'Dot' shows where in that distance range, your lens is focussed, whilst on the R, shows the furthest range over which the DOF covers?
