  • AF Home etc behaviour in FW 1.7?

I was just checking the behaviour of my OM-1 AF 'joystick' & Home position after a post from someone else talking about FW 1.7.
Anyhow, have others used or been aware that choosing a different AF Area to the set Home AF Area & moved it around with the 'joystick' (or dials in my setting) then pressing the 'joystick' it returns to the Home Position but retains that particular AF Area size etc, until pressing the Shutter Button? However, after touching the Shutter Button (half press), pressing the AF Joystick will then return to the saved Home AF Area (& position).
Maybe it's always been that way or or is it something that came in FW 1.7.

Very rarely use the joystick. On the OM-1, it seems to be out of the way for accidental touching. On previous models, the joystick was in the way, and a nuisance for me...

I just tried it and see what you mean. I wonder if that behaviour is by design or accident. I haven’t seen any OM folks raving about it as a stand out feature!

I don’t know if it changed with the firmware update, the only thing I checked was if the home position behaviour might have changed to what the Em1s did where you could home by pressing the joystick then press again and it would change back to the previous focus points and position. It was a behaviour discussed here on DPR, I’m sure it was discussed on this forum but I can’t find the posts
