Any recommendations for an OM-1 L-bracket that isn't stupidly expensive? The 3 Legged Think 'Ollie' looks like a very well designed and implemented solution but at £100 seems way too expensive. I saw a recommendation for a £30 Nisi NLP-S(G) and tried that but the fit wasn't as good as the review I found implied.- a £7 cheapo from China wouldn't be much worse. I imagine a Chinese version will become available eventually but, so far at least, I've only found units designed for the EM-1 MkII/III.

Sadly, there aren't any 'cheap' versions for the OM-1 but hopefully someone will produce one now the Mk II OM-1 is out. I modified a cheap E-M-1 II L bracket base plate & it does me, but does require some removal (& addition) of material though.

I sometimes use the one off my E-M1iii. It's not perfect but it's functional. The 3 legged thing is expensive and doesn't provide what I want; an extension of the grip for the right hand. Why hasn't an independent manufacturer produced one yet?!?!Lots of gear; Little idea

There was a long discussion a while back (on Dpreview ) about RRS in the USA producing one......
Well, it looks like is now available @$80

Does that help

@Bobblejack
I think on the Dpreview thread there were some rrs buyers and IIRC it fitted & worked as the previous bodies ones.

Yes, more costly but with all such accessories your choice. So far I have not wanted an L Plate on my mFT kit.

I just find I could do with that little bit extra for the right hand to grip, otherwise my little finger seems to be superfluous. The l-bracket on my E-M1iii solves the problem entirely. I just wish whoever makes those cheap & cheerful ones would produce one for the OM-1

Think I showed somewhere that it's possible to mod those EM1mk2 L to fit the OM1. You need to file the tripod screw hole and the bit off the battery access.

These are the photos I took. I added a bit of leather to the front grip with superglue (to give it some hardness), building it up to match the shape of the OM-1. I had to remove the lip across the front too (or was it the back?). Here's a screen shot of my photos in my Flickr album (as linked above).Originally posted by blu-by-u View PostThink I showed somewhere that it's possible to mod those EM1mk2 L to fit the OM1. This should do the trick https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pig-Iron-LB.../dp/B01N63S2YF
Adjusts to fit most camera designs, use one on my G9 that also seems to be lacking a specific L Bracket.

I also modified the cheap plate that I had previously used on my E-M1 Mk III. The two photos show what I did. It was very easy; just needed a mini hacksaw and a file to remove ragged edges. I padded the plate with some sticky-back neoprene that I bought in Hobbycraft. The fit is a bit tatty but it does the job and the neoprene ensures that it stays secure and there is no risk of scratching.
The circles show the two ends of the piece I had to cut out, and the arrow shows where I had to file the metal down a bit to let the battery door open fully.

Think I will pad my plate too.
I had to save mine further
down by 0.3mm to accommodate that Benro Theta.
