    To Box Brownie,
Re; “But if I wanted to buy another USB-C to USB-C cable just for use with the BCX-1 charger would it worth the minor difference in price to get a PD version of the cable so that should I ever in future get a PD grade external battery can I use that grade of cable to also link the power brick to the camera???”
Todate I ahve not used the cable that came with camera, I have charged camera using Apple iPad cable connected to a third party mains power brick (by Hyper Juice). Have just tried third party PD Cable with PD power battery 60w/100w and camera charges.
    Hope this gives some help

      FWIW

I have ordered a PD 100W grade USB-C to USB-C to use with the charger when it eventually arrives (the webshop now says [again] "In Progress")

Edit ~ sorry pault I posted before I even spotted your post. I intend to reserve the OMS supplied cable purely for OM WS firmware updating & the occasional file transfer.

I tried a few more times charging the BLX1 battery in the BLM1 charger and now the charger considers the battery fully charged, emitting green solid light, even when it is not.

I have charged the "free" battery once and recharged the original battery once with the battery charger and both times the sequence of lights was one flashing orange light, then one solid orange light and the second light flashing, then two solid orange lights with the third light flashing orange then whwn the charge was complete all lights were off. The camera reports batteries 100% charged. No green lights!
One of my batteries would benefit from a top up so will do that this morning and see what happens.

          Update.
Now recharged both my batteries and the sequence of events is as above, no green light and camera reports fully charged.

Have just received my BCX-1 double charger, works very well with the supplied cable, snug secure fit. Perhaps you have a poor copy?

Which cable do you use and into what do you plug it?

There is no cable involved in this.

Tordan58 Sorry, I misunderstood. The BLM1 battery charger is designed for BLM1 batteries. You cannot expect it to work properly with BLX-1 batteries.

Quite a few people seem to be concerned about a USB-C plug being a bit 'wiggly' in the OM-1's port. Personally I don't think you need to be - A certain amount of movement flexibility is probably a good thing. It's rather like the fact that the tips of a Boeing Jumbo Jet's wings are designed to move up or down by up to 7ft while in flight - No reason to be alarmed!

Similarly I think you'll find that the relatively 'flimsy' rubber door to the ports is not the main weatherproof barrier - The necessary tight seals are further inside the cavity. I have been rinsing my OM-1 + 150-400mm under a light shower every evening when shooting at Nazare Portugal in salt air conditions.

Because I have not received my pre-ordered battery grip I have needed to use a PD battery pack in the field occasionally - I only get about 1,100 RAW images before emptying the battery. I use the OM supplied USB-C ringed cable but without the fiddly plastic cage.

The BLM1 charger is not designed to charge the BLX1 batteries (2280mAh).... It will think that you have a BLM1 battery in it and stop charging when it reaches that level 1500mAh... which might only be 65% charge on a BLX1!
I would not charge a BLX1 battery in a BLM1 charger, it could damage the charger or battery.

What about the white USB-C to USB-C lead that I use to charge my MacBook Pro 16".

I've tried it just once and it seems to work, are there any hidden dangers I ought to be aware of?
