I started 3D printing about 3 years ago and, as you say, the hardest part is learning how to use CAD software to create your own designs. I started to learn 'Fusion 360', which is free for personal non-commercial use. At first I simply could not get started but then this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5bc9c3S12g - got me going with the basics and I was launched on my learning curve!Originally posted by Wookie View PostThe price of Olympus/omd spares, you’d soon cover the cost of buying the 3d printer🤣. Though I wouldn’t know where to start with using one, so it would just gather dust
My main subject is making railway models but other projects have included a replacement oven-knob for the kitchen cooker and an adapter to attach a camera right-angle finder to the polar-finder scope in my tracking mount (saves a lot of bending down to line up on the Pole Star!
My 3D printed railway modelling activities can be seen at https://www.rmweb.co.uk/blogs/blog/2...ad-gauge-blog/ where I describe in detail my approach to using a 3D printer.
