  • SOLVED Missing some spares? Just 3D print them yourself!

This enterprising E-M1 photographer needed some spare parts for his camera, so he 3D printed them:

The price of Olympus/omd spares, you’d soon cover the cost of buying the 3d printer🤣. Though I wouldn’t know where to start with using one, so it would just gather dust

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at his blog after watching that. He has some other 3D printing camera projects on there.

I don’t have a 3D printer but found it interesting.

He's not the most talkative type is he?

But what the hell has he been doing with that EM1? Looks like he's thrown it down a flight of stairs!

I started 3D printing about 3 years ago and, as you say, the hardest part is learning how to use CAD software to create your own designs. I started to learn 'Fusion 360', which is free for personal non-commercial use. At first I simply could not get started but then this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5bc9c3S12g - got me going with the basics and I was launched on my learning curve!

My main subject is making railway models but other projects have included a replacement oven-knob for the kitchen cooker and an adapter to attach a camera right-angle finder to the polar-finder scope in my tracking mount (saves a lot of bending down to line up on the Pole Star!

You could sell those to skywatcher owners. I’ll have one
            Those models are amazing .
Not sure if the wife would allow me to have more gadgets

I wonder if it's possible to print those grips?
