  • OMD charging help!!!

The good news, my OMD that I ordered from Amazon has arrived
the not so good news, the supplier emailed me to say they had to remove the battery for shipping due to some security regs but it should arrive within 7 days or so
not a problem I thought because I had ordered 2 after market units from Amazon as well (different supplier).
All seems to work ok but the batterers are only comparable with the camera but not the charger
    charger now on order.
So Question,is it possible to charge a battery in the camera using the
multi connector (above HDMI socket) and an in line charger as I have one from an olympus TG 8000 it's for a lower voltage battery but I thought it may trickle charge , but obviously don't want to risk the camara or the house...think I better just wait for the postie, any thoughts ?

    Re: OMD charging help

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't charge any the batteries in camera, regardless of the make.
The various after-market batteries will only charge in a non-Olympus charger, and some, but not all, might be a very tight fit in the battery grip.

I'm sure you will love the camera though; It will be worth waiting for the correct charger to arrive.
    Best Regards

      Re: OMD charging help

Cheers Bill and thanks for the reply
I kinda thought so, but had to ask
I've been using what power there is to try some 4/3 lenses
the two kit lenses (14-42+40-150 MK2) are not that bad for speed but the 18-180 that I had high hopes for was disappointing as it took a long time with multiple clicking as it fine focused, although the I/Q was good
      70-300 seems good as well,
      can't wait to play

      all the best

        Re: OMD charging help

I've never heard of anyone having to remove batteries from a camera box before posting. If you ask me, they removed the battery from the box to sell it and can't yet replace it.
