An excellent set of shots. I love the last shot. Is it a Kingfisher?

It's definitely a kingfisher. After doing some research, Japan definitely has Common Kingfishers that we are familiar with here. The on e photographed looks slightly different to me I wonder. if there is a slight variation between ours and theirs?

There are 6 or 7 sub-species of Common Kingfisher: in Western Europe we have Alcedo atthis ispida, in Japan they have Alcedo atthis bengalensis which is - apparently smaller and brighter than "our" one.

I have no knowledge of birds or other living things, and I did not know that there are many species of kingfishers.
        Thank you for the explanation.
It is fun to know and see the differences in photos outside of my home country.

Nice set. Interesting to see some pics of Japanese Tit (Parus minor) - looks very like our Great Tit but another species split in fairly recent times.

Ah! I bow to superior knowledge! 😊

What do you think about the kingfisher? It seems slightly different to the ones we're familiar with.

Yep - comment above on the different races of Common Kingfisher. TBH I didn't know that until I googled it!
