had a quick session yesterday with my lads nikon Z8 and my 200-500 vr lens quite impressed to say the least circa 95% hit rate ,its as fast as the om1 20fps with accurate bird i.d . ,if it was a bit cheaper I might be tempted but not at the moment bovver hover by jeff cohen, on Flickr november skies by jeff cohen, on Flickr down you go by jeff cohen, on Flickr
All taken from the front garden jack , think I took around 500 shots in five minutes and all in focus , very impressive bit of kit but also pricey . Trouble is I could get virtually identical results with the OM1 or the Nikon D500 .. hmmmm ?
The Z8 is really a powerhouse of a camera. Best camera from Nikon in a long time. I'm very happy with my Panasonic gear, but I sometime think I ought to have stayed with the Nikon Z system I tried back in 2020. But life moves on ...

Agreed Paul it’s a super camera BUT not that much different to the OM1 series , plus the lenses are heavier and a LOT more expensive.. at the moment I’m keeping my OMS gear ,but I love the tactile feel of my D500 plus F mount lenses are rock bottom prices at the moment if you search them out .. I may even invest in a FF body after Xmas
Yep obviously a good camera but the lenses cost and weight far too much for me - oh and the £££££
Yes with your health issues weight would be a problem , but the path I’ve taken with a DSLR body I’m finding the lenses can now be had for a song , bought two primes today in fact a F2.8 and a F 1.8 cost me a just over £100 each . Just got to find a excuse to use them now
