  • Informative description of raw files

This recent Affinity Spotlight entry explains raw very clearly:

What's actually in a RAW file, and how does software convert it to something tangible that we can view and edit? Let's find out.

It's very clear from this how much information is (potentially) lost when you shoot jpg only - look at the white balance and highlight recovery cases especially!

    It's 'raw' actually!

Raw is not an acronym. so it shouldn't be capitalised. JPEG is an acronym, so it should be capitalised. I know that raw is often capitalised, but it's always wrong to do so.

It's not always wrong to capitalise raw, you might be wanting to do so for emphasis . Anyway, I didn't .
