Welcome to everybody.. I am new here and I hope to get helpful advice to resolve my problem. I've just received my new Olympus Pen E-PM1 and I cannot take photos or see images. "card error" is occured on the screen. I've formatted my Sandisk (SD) 128mb card and the problem is not still resolved. Once I thought the card was damaged, but it works perfectly with a mobile phone and other cameras. So, what can I do? What do you recommend? looking forward to your recomendations? thanks in advance.

Two questions.
First. Did you format the card in the camera or a PC etc.?
The card needs to be formatted in the camera to work properly, page 99 of the manual.
Second. Is your card really only 128 mega bit (mb) or 128 mega byte (MB)?
Either way it's rather small for this application. An EPM-1 large jpeg file is 8.4 MB (67mb) and a raw file is 12MB (96mb) so if you shoot jpeg+ raw you will need 20.4MB (164mb) for each shot. Most of us these days will use at least a 4GB card.

Re: Sandisk (SD) card error on the Olumpus Pen E_pm1 camera
Thank you for your reply at first. As for the questions, I formatted the card, but not in the PC or the camera itself, because when I enter "card setup" and press "yes" button to format the card "card error" occurs again. So I formatted it in my mobile.
My card is 128 mega byte (MB).
I will take your advice into consideration and buy 4GB card. and one more question, how do you think is Sandisk SDHC 4GB suitable for my Olympus pen e-pm1 camera?
Thank you again

Two more possibilities.
First, the camera may regard the card capacity as too small.
Second, formatting in the mobile may not actually do a "true" format but format to suit the mobile application.
The Sandisk SDHC or any other reputable brand should be fine. I'm actually using Lexar in my OMD. Go for Class 10 and the highest write/ read speed you can afford as with the large file sizes the camera produces a slower card can take too long to write to if you take a quick series of shots. My current cards are 400x. Buy from a reputable supplier NOT Ebay as a large proportion of the cards offered on there are counterfeit and do not perform as specified.
Hope this helps.
