  • Issues with OM Workspace

Hello fellow Olympians' of the Plant -Lens, brief intro . Have just as an recovering photographer - with a time lapse of 20+ tears.
Recently purchased a beautiful new OM1 (last previous Olympus OM4ti - went to eBay with it's lovely lenses RIP). Have got an issue
with Workspace - as after editing RAW files - then tried to store in a Windows 10 folder (in Explorer). Processed files are being saved
in 'OES' format and unable to open as an image.

OES files is not linked to a Windows photo App i.e. Image.... ? Any solutions?

    Hi There

It looks like "OES" is the batch processing file that saves all the RAW processing operations you do on a RAW file

What you need to do is after doing the RAW edits on your images, go to the File / Export menu and export the file as a JPEG or TIFF file using this panel

There are various formats, I tend to use the SuperFine JPEG option for final output or TIFF if I want to do processing in another app

For TIFF output to be processed again I use this format, it gives large files though

    I hope that helps!

I think you mean 'ORF' files.

You can try the RAW Image Extension in the Microsoft App Store.

And a very warm welcome to the forum!

Bill's reply was a lot more insightful! Windows can't open a RAW file to show your post processing edits. My suggestion, which should install a codec to display a RAW file in Windows Explorer, simply shows the RAW file with a preset interpretation of the image. To view your edited RAW file you would either need to export an edited JPEG or TIFF version nd this could be viewed in Windows Explorer and other programs.
