Re: Hi
Hi and welcome.
Most of the other members won't know where Seaham is but as my wife Julie comes from South Hetton, I do! (Unless there is another Seaham somewhere!!
I joined only a couple of months ago but have learnt a great deal by just reading many of the posts in the various forums. Ask questions and you will find many helpful answers.
Good luck

FYI Seaham has a fabulous bit of coastal scenery with the spoil heaps/debris/waste from old coastal coal mines, ironworks, glassworks, etc., etc. all having been cleared away to reveal some good magnesium limestone cliffs. The upshot of the old industry and the magnesium limestone is a wonderful juxstaposition of fused metal debris, tumbled bricks, and sulphurous foreshore, contrasting with beautiful wildlife and flowers, especially to the south of Seaham. I'll try and pull out a few shots from the area in the next week or so.
In the spring/summer it would make a great location for a 4/3rds meetup, especially as there now seem to be so many existing & new members on this site from the north east.
Welcome one and all.
