  • Hi Olympus users

    Hi Fellow Olympus users,

I am Steve from Sheffield Yorkshire. I purchased an Olympus camera about 7 months ago (my first camera apart from the one on my mobile!) as I needed a hobby to get me out of the house.

Since then I have really caught the photography bug, although lacking in many skills. However, I understand these will take years to master.

Welcome to FT E-System Group Steve.

That bug rarely goes away (I know from experience), as to lacking in skills that will soon change but the main thing is to have fun with it and enjoy it.
    Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

                    Welcome Steve.

If you can get to grips fairly quickly with the relationship between Apperture/Shutter speed/ ISO then you will fairly rapid progress.

Usually for beginners ( newbies ) the next step of weaning them off - Auto mode and on to Apperture Priority or Speed Priority.

It's amazing what you can achieve if you try and take a photo every day and learn from it or the mistakes it contains.

                    The very best of luck.

                            Hi Steve, and welcome.

I've just enjoyed looking at your Flickr and you're already a better photographer than you give yourself credit for. In particular you've got some very nice macros and close-ups - this is far from being an easy type of photography to master but already you're doing very well. There are some great macro photographers on this forum and I know they will be only too happy to help you become even better.
