  • Hi, and an introduction.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hello. I have had my camera, an e400, for a couple of years now but not had the time to utilise it fully. With a bit more time on my hands of late I have decided to correct that. My first posted album is entitled 'the beginning' because I hope that this is just the start of my journey. Please feel free to browse and post; I welcome all your comments and constructive criticism about any of the photos I upload here - after all, that is how we learn.

I am based in Wiltshire and like to get outdoors throughout the UK so I tend to turn up in some odd places and I try to take my camera wherever possible.

I look forward to hearing from you guys and taking on board any points and hope we can share improvements along the way.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Welcome to our little corner of OlyWorld greenguru. Good to have you on board. You are sure to learn a lot here.
Your E-400 is a good dSLR as it has the Kodak sensor which gives lovely colours. The E-1 and the E-500 also have Kodak sensors.
Haven't looked at your album yet but will do soon. Hopefully there will be other members around soon to welcome you also.
I do believe that there are a number of members of this forum from your neck of the woods. I am sure that they will make themselves known.
Really glad that you have joined us.

      Welcome to the forum Rob
you've certainly got some interesting images in your album, I like the door within a door, pool stairs and the weathered tree.
      Looking forward to seeing more

        Re: Hi, and an introduction.

        Hi Rob, and welcome.

I may be being a bit dense here, but despite a lot of searching, I can't find your images!

I've tried searching under your username and title, but still nothing...

        Anybody help please?

Well, that's a little embarrassing. I can't see anything I have added - from personal details, profile picture or album. Does anyone know what I may have done wrong or not done?

The link to the album is here (if it works): http://e-group.uk.net/forum/album.php?u=1579

Thanks Rob - the link works! (Nice images too...)

Still can't find it by searching though.

              Re: Hi, and an introduction.

              ery nice pictures :-)

However, you have placed them in your profile rather than in the Gallery space (I didn't know one could do that...)

If you click on "Gallery" below the banner on the forum pages, then click on "My Albums" then "Create a new Album" - bob will be your uncle

Thanks to Pete. New gallery posted in the members section. I welcome your comments and criticisms.

Thanks for the welcomes; one of the things I liked about this group is the friendly family atmosphere.

Great! I can find them now.

You're right about the group Rob - they're a friendly bunch, one of the nicest around.

I must make more of an effort to contribute, but sometimes it's a bit intimidating, given the standard on here!

A quick look at your gallery suggests you have nothing to worry about!

                      Re: Hi, and an introduction.

                      Mostly just lucky shots Rob!

I just don't seem to be able to acheive any consistency...nine out of ten photo's go straight into the bin!

It's very frustrating! I know what I want to capture, and try my best, but when I get back and view them, they are pants! I've either got the exposure totally wrong, or missed some glaring detail in the background that just ruins them.

I'm trying my best to get the shot "in camera" rather than relying on PP, but it's really proving difficult!

Hey, I've been snapping since the late '60s and eight out of ten of mine still get binned
