  • Wales Meet Sept 09

How nice it was to meet all of you. Some for the 1st time and some to meet again

Also how nice the weather was for us all - specially in the morning

Some views that may amuse those who were there and hopefully also some who were not

Raglan Castle taen with the excellent 7-14 I was lent for the morning .. WANT ONE !

I mean this is the classic view and I had no chance other than panoramic stitching with my lenses

It is however a mind your toes lens as can be seen in this spiral staircase picture ... I've left it in to make the point rather than cropping/cloning

We found plenty of entertainment @ Usk Castle

Especially John (Zukio) Perriman who found the compost heap to play in

    Lunch was pleasant

And I got to find out what a good portrait lens the 7-14 was... Sorry Steve..

    Regards
    Andy

    Re: Wales Meet Sept 09

    Nice set Andy

But I'm struck by how 'narrow' the field of view of the 7-14 is compared with my Peleng (totally unfair and meaningless comparison). But from the same PoV (at the top of the tower) I got not only the castle but the visitor centre as well (though if I'd shot looking downwards the whole world would have been bent). I wonder if John Baker tried that shot with the Olympus Fish Eye?.

Actually I'm most impressed - glad I didn't try it as I can't afford to buy it

Ahh.. Nick ( and everyone) Apologies ... I mistakenly stripped the EXIF which would have shown that top one was at with my 11-22 and hence it was not as wide as your 8mm Peneng

THis one is a slighly different FOV, but is the 7mm end of the 7-14 and back with EXIF in place

      Regards
      Andy

            Hi All,

I have been putting a smugmug gallery together, so far only got through the Raglan section but I'm working on the rest. Here is the gallery link and one of the better ones

            (I am a sucker for B&W)

They are all great locations, thanks for organizing the trip
