  • Red Arrows in Dorset

It has just been announced that the Red Arrows are, after a gap of several years, returning to Lyme Regis on 22nd July. They are waiving their usual fee as the event is in Lifeboat week and is in aid of the RNLI. http://www.raf.mod.uk/reds/

Lyme is a very good place to watch them as the Lister Gardens form a natural amphitheatre to view the display over Lyme bay.

I am mentioning this now in case anybody can arrrange to be in the West Country then and wants fit in a visit.

I hope it's Ok to mention this here even though it's not directly e-system related

Thanks for the post, I'm more interested in the lifeboat than the red arrows. Do you have any details when they would be doing demostrations with the boat?

I notice the date for the red arrows show is a Wednesday, which makes it more difficult to attend due to work commitments, but I understand it is Lifeboat Week, so their maybe launches at the weekend too?

According to Lyme Regis tourist information there are more details on posters/leaflets in the town.

If your local and can find out more details I would be grateful.

    Regards

    Simon

      Simon,

I am not a local but I do go down there a lot, unfortunately it will be a couple of weeks before I go again, but I will look out any leaflets etc for you then.

In the meantime have you seen this http://www.whatsoninlyme.co.uk/July.htmwhich gives a brief program of the whole week. The lifeboat station is also open to view most days and in the summer there is an air /sea rescue demonstration on many Sunday mornings.
