    eGroup Meetup Lincoln Steampunk Festival 13th September

    As previously notified, there is a terrific opportunity for a Group Meet in Lincoln on Saturday 13th September, when the city will be host to Europe's largest Steampunk Festival.

    Unfortunately I am no longer able to attend this event but there is no reason why it shouldn't still go ahead as a Group Meet.

    Please indicate in this thread if you are interested in attending.

    I will post more information shortly and help facilitate this event

    Although many of the events are admission by ticket, these are aimed mainly at Steampunk participants and there should be many opportunities for street style photography as the Steampunks make their ways around the ancient, cobbled castle area of the city.

      I suggest meeting for breakfast at, say, 9.00 to 9.30am at Stokes High Bridge Cafe http://stokes-coffee.co.uk/pages/high-bridge-cafe.html

      This is conveniently situated just a 10 minute (half a mile) walk from the Castle/Cathedral area where most of the Steampunk activity will be taking place.

            I will be in Lincoln with my wife, Lesley, who is not a tog. So if the meet goes ahead I will be around.

              Good news (I think!)

              I can make it after all. The reason I had dropped out is because I no longer have the confidence to drive a 260 mile round trip in a day. However, Debbie (my wife) has said she will come and do the driving. My daughter, Freya, will also come. Both will bring their cameras.

              So far we have:-

              Maccabeej (Jim) and non-tog wife Lesley

              Me

              Debbie

              Freya.

                I will have ago at meeting you there, though not for the coffee as I will be sorting my animals.

                What time do you expect to be around the castle/bailgate area ?

                  By the time we've had breakfast and walked up to the castle area I would expect it to be about 10.30 to 11.00am. I'll PM you with my mobile number nearer the time.

                            Love to be there as it's just a short bus ride for me. However I am a member of the Village Hall committee and it is the day of our monthly car boot sale with all hands to the pumps so I'll not be able to get to Lincoln. A shame as I'm getting more interested in street photography. Have a good time all and I am looking forward to seeing some results.
