  • eGroup Meetup 24 Hour Photo Shoot With Advanced Photographer Magazine - Now With Pictures!

I've just been reading the latest issue of Advanced Photographer magazine, in which editor Will Cheung floated the idea of a 24 hour group photo shoot in London. The date is yet to be confirmed because he is gauging interest at this stage, but it is likely to be in the summer when nights will be shorter and hopefully it will be warmer.

Participation won't need to be for the whole 24 hours; photographers will be welcome to join in for just a few hours, although personally I must say there is a strong attraction to attempt the whole event. Participation can be at individual or group level and I think it is a great opportunity for members of this forum to enter as a group and fly the Olympus flag.

I am definitely up for it, dependant upon being available for the yet to be announced date, is anyone else?

Good luck John, I never managed to photograph a 24 hour race without getting a couple of hours sleep in the night.
It's the image that's important, not the tools used to make it.

Hehe, I've no doubt that I would struggle to complete the whole 24, but at least there is nothing to stop me giving up if I feel like it!

        All sounds very interesting.

As always, depending on the date and "other things", I'd be up for some of this.

Ah, you're ahead of me, Jon! If it goes ahead, the dates fall right and we can get a group together from this forum, maybe we can meet up.

              Bump!

Anyone else interested in principle? Obviously we don't know the details or date at this stage, and how long you participate is entirely your choice - I just want to gauge if there is any interest.

Yes if the dates work. Will look up how to register.

Sounds interesting. Subject to final details I would be interested.

I don't take Advanced Photographer, is it any good.

Sometimes, yes it is, but like all magazines I only buy nowadays when there is a feature of particular interest to me. This month it was the superb B&W landscape photographs of David Byrne. The magazine generally covers topics in more depth than other publications.

Thanks, that's potentially 7 of us, depending on the final details. I'll send Will Cheung an email registering our interest as a group and I'll post further details when available.

It would be great to get a reasonable representation of Olympus users; you can be sure that Canikon will be out in force!

In the meantime, if any one else is interested in principle, please let me know.

John, I am interested but, as with most, it depends on dates.
Sapper, I subscribe to Advanced Photographer and find it very inspirational. I don't buy any other mag but consider AP to be very worthwhile.

Team Olympus. It has a certain ring to it.
As long as we don't have to run around all over Lunnun shouting "OLy Oly Oly oi oi oi"
                              I'll be quite happy.
Anybody got any ideas where we might concentrate our efforts?
I though of popping into the big house at the top of the Mall and asking the head of the household if we could have a 'smudge' or two.
