Special Triggertrap offer for Olympus fans

Triggertrap is a company that develops software and hardware solutions for enabling your smart device (phone or tablet) to control a camera in a variety of ways. The most obvious is in remote shooting and timed shooting; timelapse photography. However, it's much more than this.

Myself and Graham of Rainham discussed Triggertrap a while ago on DPNow.com - the thread includes some timelapse videos I created with the help of Triggertrap, which Triggertrap also featured on their own website.

If you are interested in remote controlling your camera and either you don't have a camera with WiFi capability or you want to do more than the Olympus app is capable of (variable rate timelapse, for example) then Triggertrap is well worth a look.

They really are very good and I'm always finding new ways of using the system.

I've discovered I can fire an FL-50R at 12 flashes per second. I'm now working on an idea of using this with time lapse or video...

If you enjoy experimenting with photography these are a must have item.

Not sure how the Promo code is applied as the TriggerTrap website doesn't seem to have any applicable Promo Code box in either the Cart or the Checkout!
And the discount isn't applied automatically.

I think w8 app is in pipeline, I would have liked auto focus implemented, it. Says on website remember to set to manual focus, I would have thought it would have triggered autofocus when it sends signal to activate the shutter.

We decided against supporting autofocus as for many applications it simply doesn't make sense, but there are ways to use autofocus with the app! You can change the pulse length so that the app sends a longer signal to the camera allowing some time for it to autofocus, though this can be hit an miss, it does work!

Hello Thomas,

The previous version provided a focus signal and a shutter signal on the different Left & Right channels. This was actually quite useful as it could be used to open the shutter then fire a flash. Having a control system that is more flexible is always an advantage to those that like to experiment with things.

I have recorded the Left and Right signal and use a simple programable music program to send signals to the trigger trap dongle to do all sorts of weird stuff.

If it my initial query to which you refer, I think that's been answered kindly by Bilbo - the promo code seems to be after the first few Checkout windows - the problem for prospective purchasers is that the offer tempts but you have to enter all your details before finding out if there is a promo box and what price you will end up paying - ideally perhaps, the price should be clear before starting the Checkout process and filling in details.

Just a quick update, we've just updated our store to a shiny new one, and as such things have moved around a little.
