Revised Olympus Pen E-PL1 and kit zoom announced for Japan
Olympus has revealed an enhanced version of the Pen E-PL1 that will ship initially in Japan only from early next month. Most significant is news tha the E-PL1s has a new and much-improved Mark 2 14-42mm kit zoom lens.
Re: Revised Olympus Pen E-PL1 and kit zoom announced for Japan
ISO 6400, presumably just lifted the software block that stopped that being selected in the menus. Can't say that as a change it really excites me.
Much more useful would be lifting the software block on shutter speed (1/2000) to the same speed (1/4000) as the other PENs and making that available to existing owners by a firmware upgrade. The E-PL1 struggles with bright light and shallow dof (say on the om 50 1.8).
Bit of a strange move by Olympus, presumably trying to wring out a few more sales in the absence of a new camera for Christmas.
