Results for the November 2020 Challenge: Optical Illusion
1st...........090657........................Glouce ster Roman Baths........10 votes
2nd...........Richard of Olympus...M Shed Bristol..........................8 votes
3rd =.........BDennis....................Tree in a Bubble........................6 votes
3rd =.........MJ224.......................Late Night Chat.........................6 Votes
Congratulations to 090657 with a super photo illusion. A very convincing image. 10 votes
Closely followed by Richard of Olympus with a very colourful staircase at the M shed. (What does the M mean?) 8 votes
In 3rd place equal, Bill Dennis amazed us with his Tree in a Bubble. MJ224 Also claimed a 3rd = placing with his Late Night (stone) Chat.
So congratulations to the four winners, who will be awarded points towards the 2020 Challenge.
E1derful and Timboo nearly achieved fame, with the Refractions (wine I hope) and the Plie Squat. Both interesting illusions and worth a second close look. 5 votes
AJW attracted 4 votes with his Aluminium Staircase. It was a long way down for certain..4 votes
IainMacd produced his usual high IQ, with his rowing boat reflection of Islander. Also Travelchick's Fall into Winter, a lovely composite of trees and Reflections, both with 3 votes.
OM User gave us a wonky wood photo at Hastings Pier, maybe the camera had one too many, but an interesting illusion. 2 points.
1 vote is 1 vote, so no shame there. AMc, Stoates and Wornish all achieved the vote, with some very high IQ photos. That's how the cookie crumbles alas.
This month we have 4 "Nil Pointers", all of which again had excellent IQ and subjects. But you are in very good company with Blu By U, Dave in Wales, Kazandlee and PDK42.
Don't worry, someone has to keep the pile steady...
Another good challenge this month, 17 entries, who attracted 55 votes and 20 individual voters.
So thanks to all for time and effort, and a reminder that there is one month left to enter for the 2020 Challenge winner...

Congratulations to the winners. Well deserved points.
The amazing thing is that until you are up close you can't tell that the whole structure is flat sided and it is just the planks arranged in a herringbone pattern that deceive the eye.Originally posted by MJ224 View PostOM User gave us a wonky wood photo at Hastings Pier, maybe the camera had one too many, but an interesting illusion. 2 points.

Wow, flattered to have got those votes in among so many good shots. It was quite a thing to see and a welcome distraction during earlier lockdown. The picture represented what was under the modern Westgate street in my home city of Gloucester hundreds of years ago. It was painted on some sort of thick rubberised canvas and did look amazing. Tim

So many good shots, I wish we had more votes! Thanks for the fun, it was a surprise to get in the top 3 with an image I dug up from my hard drives taken on 2Mp camera. It made me go back and look at some old photos and re-remember some good trips so thanks for that!
