I also really liked this when I saw it a few days ago. I wanted to reply straight away but I am trying to train myself to say more than 'nice pic' especially when somebody has posted in the 'Looking for Perfection' section, as I am trying to learn how to give constructive feedback and be more objective about images. So here goes, this is my take on your pic. As has already been said I like the contrast in colours which works well, also you have not over saturated the poppy, which could have been a temptation. IMO the DOF is perfect, the focus is firmy on the poppy but you are left in doubt about the context in which is it growing. I also like the contast in the harsh lines on the rail tracks and the softness of the poppy.
As others have said - well seen. Its one of those pics I wish I had taken.
