  • Loch Linnhe

Hard hat on, here goes! Loch Linnhe taken one late afternoon in September 2006 with an E1 and 14-54mm lens, hand-held.

    Here are two alternatives:

Both are excellent images. My preference is for the first - it is more contrasty, and the rays of sun shining through help add depth to the scene.
I wonder if the second could be improved by a simple change in the colour temperature, ie, made "pinker"? As there are already hints of that tinge on the water.

I have to agree with Stephen the clouds in the second shot are a bit blue. If you made them a more neutral grey it would also enhance the reddish pink in the water. Apart from that a couple of nice shots.

Both are superb. I love the way the water in number 1 is sort of neither solid nor liquid. Both rate way better than Good.

I also prefer no1. However I do find the large dark cloud on the top left hand side rather dominates and distracts, despite that its a lovely image. I imagine you are very proud of it.

Thanks for the comment and the constructive idea - I just tried cropping the photo by scrolling it up the screen to lose some of the dark cloud and it does improve it.

Darn you! I can hear Scotland calling me again and its not long since I've been.
More photos of Scotland please, 2 is not enough.
Good shots both but I like the first slightly better.
