What a great character shot. Not really qualified to comment really as its much better than I could do but maybe a little more contrast and darkening of the background ?

I agree the sky on the right draws the eye to it. Maybe you can tone it down by reducing the highlights and/or the whites. This shouldn't have a drastic effect on the subject.

Lovely shot - good exposure overall on the face !
Wonderful textures (hair, shirt, jumper, hat).
Fine expression :-)

I'd suggest cropping the white bit close to the hat
- it'd make the subject more central
(rather than looking out of the frame).

Also, he looks a bit grey - more contrast to his face ?
(I'd say don't worry too much about the effects on the background
of face-contrast changes).

Great shot - think you have captured his character.
Would like to see more contrast on his face.

Not sure if you do any post processing but he would look amazing if you place him on a black background.

How about a dark vignette to darken the b/g and lead the eye to this amazing "lived-in" face?
