What a fascinating sculpture! As a record shot it's fine - maybe a vignette to draw the eyes to the centre.

But I would also take separate photos of specific parts of the sculpture, concentrating on details.

          b and w for drama?

Not convinced by my efforts, if I were to revisit i would try and separate the fountain and water from the bg with dof.

IMHO you need to isolate the subject... reduce depth of field

              Re: Tea - Fountain

I think I would have adopted a lower viewpoint to isolate the sculpture from the background then honed in on various pieces using a wider aperture to give more DOF.

Working with what you have here I darkened the background and added a mild blur to separate the sculpture, tweaked the sculpture and added a small amount of sharpening to make it stand out from the background. Plus did a B&W conversion to give another take on it.

              Hope you like it.

A nice picture to start with but I do like the colour edit from Tom, above. Makes it seem like the sun is shining on the statue a bit more.

                  Re: Tea - Fountain

Looking at how little water is sprayed by this fountain a fast shutter speed in that light does not show the water well.

I would suggest a neutral density filter and tripod a 1/4 of a sec should do it.

Stephen, it is "The Fountain of LURVE" at Cliveden, Nr.Maidenhead in Berks.

I do have lots of images of "the pieces". My objective here, was to capture the Fountain and Water Droplets

I find the sharpness of the water droplets distracting, I would have prefered a slower shutter speed rather than the fast one.
