    Re: St Peter Port Lighthouse

I like the look and feel of the picture, the composition, the subject and the sky. However it looks a bit dark to me.

If you check the histogram there's very little above 210 (out of 255) so you could add some punch to it using levels or curves. I think it would then be a very worthy picture.

      Pete,
thanks for taking the time to look at this image and comment, you are absolutely right about the histogram. My mistake and is to do with my work flow, i made the mistake of getting the levels correct on the original colour image but then converting to black and white by using channel mixer in PSE10 but then not checking my histogram again. Thanks again. ATB Martin

          Re: St Peter Port Lighthouse

I love the cloud textures and the sense of perspective that the image gives. Nice b&w processing as well. I would also tend to agree with the comments on the overall exposure level.

Doing what Pete said, plus adding a bit more contrast, really brings this one to life!

Nice picture. Makes me curious how the colour version of it looks like. Can you post it too?

                    Re: St Peter Port Lighthouse

I think I like your choice of choice of b&w for this image, and the edit has brightened it up and made it look even more pleasing (to my eye, anyway). The colour version of the scene is a little too vibrant for me, but nothing that a bit of creative colour editing couldn't fix
