Sorry, Ian.

It isn't very distinctive and might not be a species we find in the UK. Almost all mushrooms are associated with trees, so that doesn't narrow it down. It could be an elderly Honey Fungus.

I think I will have to name this the Toyah Wilcox fungus - because it's a mystery
