Wharrham Percy - deserted medieval village

Went for a walk around and took a snap or two!

The remains of the 18th C "improvement farm"

The church as seen from the farm

A monument - couldn't read anything on it...

The church as viewed from the footprint of the medieval village

and finally putting it into the landscape...

A interesting subject, but a bit of context as to why the village was deserted would be welcome.
