1st try: pity it's so grey today

Inevitably when you get your long-awaited new "toy" it's a grey day punctuated only briefly by brief sunny interludes but more often showers. Anyway, these were my first ever shots with the 150-400 - literally in the case of the dragonfly!


Common Darter (272mm, 1/2500, ISO 3200)



First bird: just happened to glance up to see this Great White Egret flying over the garden! (378mm, 1/12800, ISO 3200) White bird against flat grey sky doesn't make for the best results.

For the first shots with a new lens these are not bad at all, I would say that they are very good.
