Haven't seen any here for years, and a good thing too.
All us old folk, we are 82 and 81, were frightened to death of them, especially the elder ones.
Demanding money with menaces, ought to be banned, it''s akin to begging.

It’s just not the same as “penny for the guy” as a kid I got trouble as my dad was a policemen and requesting such monies on the street was considered begging in his eyes ☹️Comment

Because I used to live alone in the last house in the village, I downloaded a poster that wished everyone a happy halloween but which also said I wouldn't be opening the door. No longer solo, but every year I still print off a poster.
My youngest son has just moved to the US and I got lots of pictures of his two - which seemed to start the weekend before - collecting an awful lot of sweets. The French (daughter and family) seem to go more for Toussaint and had a big party, not so much knocking on doors. However, the Spanish, perhaps because of the dia del muertos, are into it in a big way - lots of parties (Spanish family...)Comment
