We did a 7 mile walk around a conservation / reserve area near here called the "Réserve biologique de Trunvel-Tréogat" taking in a lake, reed beds, the beach and dunes. I was lugging the OM-1 Mk ii with the 150-400 BWL but it was worth it. Some of the closer shots of birds we saw.

Juvenile Sandwich Terns on the beach

We took a wrong turn into a path in the dunes but it turned up what I think is an Isabelline Wheatear from looking at ID books - it was quite approachable, the second image is un-cropped

Finally a quick grab shot of a Winchat which popped up in some bushes near me before it realised its mistake and scarpered!

On the way round we popped in to chat to some young folks at a bird ringing station where they were logging, ringing and releasing some of the birds caught in their mist nets that morning. They were ringing some Reed and Sedge Warblers while we talked to them and we were told they'd had a lot of Winchats come through on migration - the one I photographed clearly hadn't got caught in their nets (no ring!). A couple of phone shots

Not a bad day out at the Brittany coast and the weather and light has been fantastic.
