A wet afternoon yesterday so I took some feeder shots through the conservatory window. This is a composite of two shots taken of the birds perched on each side of a feeder that hangs on our wall. I need to scout for some good perching sticks to place near the feeders for photos. They used to perch in a big buddleia bush nearby but we cut it back as it was taking over the garden.

Reason: Photo upload lost. Swiped left on iPad accidentally.
This is where the feeder hangs. It’s harder to see from the lounge windows without scaring the birds. We had a problem last year as it was encouraging mice which came in the house - I heard them in the ceiling so I removed it for a while. They’ll probably be back some time 😂
Its something many people are not aware of.
Birds need a shelter bush to look out from to check the coast is clear. We have a large tangle of a Hawthorn which provides excellent cover.
A local birder told me he lost most of his garden birds when he cut down one strategically placed bush.
Your bird feeder Bill is nicely positioned for the birds and for yourself, win win.
We don’t have a bird feeder but we do have a bird table across from the lounge. The table is partially protected by shrubs, although sometimes the farm cat will take a bird and sometimes there is a large snake under the table waiting to catch one of the birds or a mouse. The birds get through about 5kg of bird seed a month and some of the seeds fall under the top of the table for the field green striped mice to feed on. So far the mice have not come into the house, but it is a problem getting rid of them once they find their way in?
