Looks like an Indian Runner type of duck - a domesticated breed. I have seen some like this around Aylesbury.

I think most birders would just label it as a "quacky duck" - a bucket term for any domestic duck of dodgy parentage!

Merlin cannot ID it either.

Merlin only deals in real species: this is a hybrid "farmyard" duck

I've seen a few like that over the years. The head and neck confirm Mallard but the rest is a genetic mongrel. Most farmed birds (were) developed from wild species. Some traits were bred through and these still occur in the wild. Its probably a form of leucism.

Certainly an odd one. A randy Mallard got its way with some poor old duck....

Mallard are well known for hybridising. Mallard plus Aylesbury at a guess.
