It does seem to have been a better breeding season locally this year - at least for several of the "common" species. We have had lots of young Chiffchaffs & Blackcaps around the garden with 1 or 2 Willow Warblers (almost a rarity around here these days) & both Common and Lesser Whitethroats. This young Common Whitethroat posed nicely on top of a small Holly tree near the house as it seemed to be enjoying the early evening sun. The first angle really shows how it got its' name!
