Smaller (dark billed birds) are Snowy Egrets, the rest Great Egrets.

The yellow feet on the snowy makes them look like they stood in some wet paint

Super set again paul over hear there called little egret and great white egret .. we also have the tiny ( by comparison ) cattle egret

Little Egret is almost identical to these - and is a vagrant to the more Eastern parts of North America. The equivalent species in most of North America is the Snowy Egret which is what these are. There is a single record of Snowy Egret in the UK (a long staying bird seen in various parts of Scotland during 2001/2). Great White Egret (as we tend to know it in the UK) and Great Egret (as it is known in the US) are currently regarded as the same species but I've read somewhere that they may eventually be split. Great (White) Egrets are found just about all around the world!

I've looked through all of your sets ... you are vertainly putting that combination of OM1 and 150-400 to fantastic use. I never have the patience to just sit and wait for birds so i will never be competing with you, but nice to see all the same
