Nicely done, Jeff!
And well done that bird for finding such decent sized fresh meal during the really cold weather!

Very nice set of a lovely bird. Worth getting a bit cold for
We're fortunate to see a few in East Anglia - normally round more "industrial" sites (ports & power stations seem good bets!).

We're lucky enough to have seen one 3 or 4 times in our garden during the 28 years we've lived here! They've all been very brief visits so goodness only knows how often they really go through unseen. The most recent one was in March 2021 when I just happened to be looking out of the window when it landed on our patio, was there maybe 30 seconds before flying off (fortunately I re-found it and got "record" shots when it perched on our neighbours fence later the same day). They are a bird that can turn up almost anywhere as often in urban surroundings.

According to Bird Guides, there are several Black Redstarts around the Newport South Wales area. So it seems to be an influx of them. Xing fingers we might see one in the Llanelli area...
