Fishing on the Swan River

Last Sunday morning there was some interest in catching fish on the swan river. Many of the big competitors were there -

The little black cormorant -



The Pelican -



The Nankeen night heron




The pelican was even taking hints from others -



But it was the little pied cormorant that came through with the prize -

Great set and good to see a range of completely different birds from those in the UK/Europe. Night Heron my favourite too.

Thanks. The Nankeen night heron was the highlight of my day. Previously I had seen one roosting in a distant tree or flying away as I stumbled nearby. This one was very patient.
