I had purposely left my 100-400 at home and this shot of a Great Blue Heron was taken with my OM-1 and 40-150 F2.8 and the 2.0x TC. When I saw the first few shots they were just too far away. I then added in the OM-1 digital 2.0x TC and this is the JPG result. I did not crop it but did do some post processing including some additional sharpening. Unfortunately their is just not much detail but I'm pleasantly surprised I was able to hold steady enough to get a few keepers. The heron was on the other side of the Yadkin river and up high in a small rookery.

Great photo Joe. The 40-150mm with the 2X tc really works well. IQ rivals the 300mm f4 Pro

It's still a nice shot though!

There is nothing wrong with the photo and having the wider view, adds to the overall perspective of where the Heron was, I like it.
Recently, whilst on safari in Kenya, I found myself in a similar situation where myself nor the camera lens, could not get closer to the bird or wild animal.
I am looking forward Joe to seeing more of your photos, thank you for sharing.
