That is a nice shot showing the colours Barrie. Egyptian Geese are becoming quite common in the UK - we saw some numbers of them in Hyde Park London recently, I do like them.

Very well caught. They have a very bad reputation here in Germany for their somewhat aggressive attitude against native birds and for fouling park greens making them unsuitable for playing on by young children. There are quite a few culling hunts, especially in city parks where shooting is normally prohibited, each year in an effort to reduce the numbers. Such issues don't arise among the various ducks and swans.Gerry

We have seen fairly similar behaviour here in Kenya amongst the geese being territorial and sometimes hostile to each other. However, they are colourful and interesting to watch.
A few years ago, we helped a good friend to build a large pond as a water source in her garden in the bush and in the middle of the pond, we built a man made floating island for the geese to live and make a nest. They also live on the top of the chimney of her house.

That is quite understandable Barr1e and Anne, some of the encounters experienced, when we see these fabulous looking birds, create feelings of excitement and wonder.
A few days ago, a little bird flew into an upstairs window and very sadly it didn’t make it.
Yesterday, a bird of prey, a Kite swooped down and took it off the flat roof to a nearby tree. It was not in my heart to photograph what had transpired.
Horrifying to see, but it was in its nature to do so.
In nature there is life and death, good, bad and there is also much beauty.
Thank you for sharing your photos, never a disappointment.
