  • Aurora Event!

It appears the Aurora Borealis will reach its maximum between midnight and 6am on Monday 2 June (UTC), which is 8pm Sunday to 2am Monday morning EDT (where I am). Convert time using this converter. “Tomorrow Night” in the illustration below is, as best as I can determine, Sunday night, which becomes Monday morning, right? 😉 Specific times are below that.
Be sure to check the Clear Dark Sky tables and Clear Outside (put in your location).
Lastly—find a Dark Sky Area near you.
    Good luck!

The images below are from NOAA’s Aurora Dashboard (Experimental).

I think you are much more likely to see an aurora than we are in the UK. I'm looking forward to your ophotos.

We did get the aurora in SW France last year on several nights.

I try to post, but I’m leaving for a month-long driving trip down east (Canada) the next day. I’ll try my best.

Sounds like fun - if you can post some photos during your trip I'm sure we'd really appreciate it!

I've been getting notifications that there's going to be activity but not holding out much hope - it's very gray out there at 5pm, and forecast to carry on tonight. This afternoon was extremely frustrating - I could hear aircraft passing overhead (event on at Shuttleworth) but couldn't see a thing!

I completely forgot, though the sky wasn't particularly clear yesterday evening.

I keep getting red alerts on my phone but they've been during UK daytime.

It's bright sunshine here at 5pm. I think it will be back to amber / green by the time the sky gets dark enough here.

                      Good luck in North America!

Clear sky tonight but no sign of any aurora, sadly.
